Marine Report for 5th Grade
Due on Wednesday, November 2nd
NAME__________MARINE CREATURE_____________
PARTNER NAME__________
The basis of your project will be a Power Point presentation, which will be used to give a speech on a marine creature from the Oregon Coast Aquarium!! Each student has researched information that they will use for their presentation. The research, power point, and prezi will be done in class. Student will have time to practice their speech in class with their partner. I STRONGLY SUGGEST that students practice their speech at home too.
The power point needs to consist of the slides listed below:
Slide 1: Title Page – First and last name, the date, room number, and the name of your creature.
Slide 2: Physical description including at least three characteristics.
Slide 3: Habitat: Describe the environment your creature lives in. If your creature migrates be prepared to describe different homes.
Slide 4: Food Web: What eats them, what do they eat, and how do they protect themselves? (Chart and/or picture is required)
Slide 5-7: Write at least three interesting facts about your animal, one per slide.
Slide 8: Include at least three sources in your bibliography.
Example: http://www.seaworld.org/animal-info/info-books/harbor-seal/diet.htm
Marine Speech: Your speech needs to be at least two minutes long. You should have your speech memorized (decide with partner shares particular slides or “bounce” back and forth) and use the Power Point as a visual for the audience. PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! :0)
